Tools of Native Americans A Kid's Guide to the History and Culture of the First Americans

Summary:

Tools of Native Americans explores how the first Americans, faced with varying climates and a land never before conquered by human beings, developed everything we take for granted today: food supplies, shelter, religion, games, jewelry, social strata, and more. Fifteen hands-on activities illuminate how the Native Americans learned to survive and thrive by creating tools, culture, and a society based on their immediate environment.

PUB DATE AUGUST 2011—Trash. It’s all around us. Any place you encounter groups of people, you’ll discover mounds and mounds of garbage. In the United States alone, we generate about 210 million tons of trash a year. We toss out and throw away disposable products all the time. Out of sight, out of mind. No need to see or get a whiff of our waste again.

"There’s a lot of fun to be had with Great Colonial America Projects You Can Build Yourself, for both children and adults. There’s history turned into story and sharing, so that even if, maybe especially if, history was never your best subject, you and your kids will come away with stories of your own to share."
